1980s
1980: Salo dormitory built above the new Library and common room built to connect it to the main class room block. (Now Upstairs Library and Bookhire and Media rooms). Commencement of celebration of 50 years of Ursuline involvement in Toowoomba with 278 students in Years 8, 9 and 10 and 25 staff. 175 boarders (75 senior students at Downlands). Vertical Boarding House system introduced with three boarding houses - Brescia, Garda and Desenzano.
1981: Construction of swimming pool and dressing sheds which were blessed on 3 May.
1983: Opening of Merici block.
1984: Death of Sister Janet Seale osu (Principal) through an accidental fall at Yamba. Sister Ruth Durick osu Acting Principal for Term 4.
1985: Sister Mary MacIntosh osu Principal (1985-1986). Purchase of 10 Rome Street. Staffroom moves into old Recreational Hall.
1987: Sister Leone Pallisier osu Principal (1987-1994 Semester 1). Staircase constructed at southern end of staffroom for staff access to upstairs common room (previously Sisters' accommodation rooms). Le Grezze moved to Highfields.
1988: Purchase of 40 Taylor Street.
1989: Art classes shift from Art House to Rome Street in Rome Street to new Art rooms in A Block. Opening of new Garda Boarding House. Refurbishment of old Garda House dormitories to classrooms A10 to A17, C21 and 22.
